Common difficulties in weight loss attempts

Eat healthy. Work out. These are the two components of weight loss. It is a simple formula, right? In theory, yes, all you have to do is watch what you eat and be active every day. So why aren’t we all fit, healthy, and thin? Why are there so many people who struggle with their weight so much and for so long? The answer is simple: talk is cheap, and there are plenty of difficulties you may come across when trying to lose weight.

Watch out for these drawbacks that people often complain about:

Craving: Most diets deprive you of things you love most such as bread, snacks, or fatty foods. Aside from the fact that this is too harsh, it is also unhealthy in the long run. Our bodies need to consume all kinds of food groups for energy and health maintenance, including carbohydrates and fats. But the key is consuming these foods correctly and in moderation. There are kinds of carbohydrates and fats that are actually healthy and indispensable for the human body.

Trouble keeping up the weight loss: With these diets that make you quit these food groups for a certain amount of time are effective for a short time, but you cannot follow it forever because you start craving. They have no plan for maintaining the weight loss after you shed the extra pounds. So you lose weight quickly, but then you gain it back when you stop dieting.

Discouragement: One of the most common reasons for not sticking to a diet is that you do not lose the weight as quickly as you imagined. This makes you feel discouraged and tempts you to quit dieting and just accept the status quo.

Diet food is expensive: Protein shakes for breakfast to boost your workout, special diet meals, gym classes, and diet foods at the supermarket demand a bigger budget than what you spent when you were eating however you like. Ordering a ready-made meal from your favorite fast food joint is more budget-friendly, so you tend to fall back into temptation just to spend less.

False advertising: Diet commercials always show those perfectly shaped people wearing an outfit that is four sizes larger than theirs, and they always claim that they have lost 15 kilos in one month. Diet companies always promise you significant weight loss within an unrealistic period of time, which can be frustrating when you don’t get the same results.

Everyone is prone to having these difficulties when trying to lose weight. This is why the best that you can do is to not follow a strict diet that limits your food choices and triggers cravings, but rather follow a long-term healthy lifestyle plan that allows you to consume everything in moderation.
